Maintain and develop strong relationships with Banks to support the company’s commodities portfolio trading volumes.
Ensure timely and accurate issuance of Trade Finance instruments in order to provide adequate support to the trading activity.
Present new transactions to financing banks, include seeking FI approval.
Process export and import L/C’s and its respective amendments (if any), gathering and providing documents needed to be in place before financing, checking workability of L/C’s and ensuring required deal conditions are met.
Perform timely and accurate processing of all relevant trade finance documentation including export/import letters of credit, account receivables, commercial contracts, documentary collections, letter of indemnity, discounting, etc.
Ensure that documents under TF instruments are checked for accuracy and competency before submitting to the bank and client.
Follow-up of financed transactions, controlling the whole supplier-customer chain within the import-export, including endorsement and deliver original documents to client/bank.
Timely communication with relevant departments and financing banks regarding the status of financed transactions.
Cooperate with treasury team, forecasting cash flow.
Liaise with the operation department to monitor and ensure correct security is in place before releasing cargoes.
Review of purchase and sales contract
Ensure that all transactions comply with the latest regulations, guidelines, and policies
Respond promptly to all payments and any others related queries and enquiries under Trade Finance tools
Efficient management and reconciliation of bank records, ensuring statements are up to date and all entries cleared/matched against in-house accounting records
Identify any new risks and control gaps within own area and escalate accordingly to the Manager and/or Head of Trade Finance unit.
5 years of relevant professional experience gained with a commodity trading firm and/or a bank (dealing with commodity clients).
Practical knowledge of trade finance instruments (L/C, SBL/C, Bank Guarantee(s), Documentary Collections, Discounting, etc.).
Strong understanding of cross-border commodity financing in a trading environment, with a focus on trade and structured trade finance products.
Well organized and detail oriented who can work under pressure.
Ability to work overtime if required to meet deadlines.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, in a busy office environment.
Good knowledge of English and Russian to communicate with counterparties
Knowledge of UCP600, ISBP, URR, URC rules and Incoterms is an advantage.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Basic knowledge of sanctions procedures.
